My love for horses was passed down from the women in my family, there is a matriarchal line of horse adoration I was born into. My mom often tells a story of me, as an infant, seated in front of her on her gelding Rocky and when our ride was over I would continue moving my hips as if we were still cantering around the field.

I am so grateful to have had a childhood where my time was almost entirely spent in the woods on a horse. I owe my ability to remain curious and present in my work to the years spent riding alone in nature. My young adult life was absorbed in competing in 3 day eventing, modern dressage, and learning from natural horsemanship trainers.

My want to pursue teaching came in my early twenties when I started a yoga practice, which led to becoming a yoga teacher. Anatomy and it’s function fascinates me. How bodies habitually move and their ability to change and reform keeps me an eager student of the body, both horse and human.
